SPA holds second meeting for SINAPO creation
Brazil.- July 15 – www.zonadeazar.com The Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA) of Brazil’s Ministry of Finance held its second meeting to develop the National Betting System (SINAPO), aiming to integrate federal and state efforts to strengthen a regulated, safe, and responsible betting market.
Key topics: regulation and responsible gambling
Discussions included operator authorization rules, enforcement and sanctions, anti-money laundering policies, and promoting responsible gambling and player protection.
Representatives from Goiás, Bahia, Santa Catarina, Amazonas, Acre, Ceará, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Pará, Paraíba, Rio Grande do Norte, Rondônia, Tocantins, and Paraná attended the meeting.
Next steps for a regulated market
Fabio Veiga, Lottopar’s operations director, highlighted that SINAPO is a strategic advancement aligned with the policy of bringing bettors into a controlled, regulated market.
Two more meetings are planned before delivering the final report outlining guidelines for states’ voluntary adherence to SINAPO, reinforcing cooperation and citizen protection within Brazil’s legal betting market.
