Brazil: Artificial Intelligence, Live Betting, and the Challenge of Maintaining Trustworthy Markets

Brazil.—August 15, 2026 www.zonadeazar.com The rapid growth of live betting is forcing operators to manage odds, risks, and integrity practically all at once. In an interview published today by Insider Sport, Livia Troise, Chief Innovation Officer at Casa de Apostas, explained how artificial intelligence and machine learning models already make it possible to recalculate odds and analyze enormous volumes of data as a match unfolds.

The challenge lies precisely in that speed. In competitions with good coverage, a goal, a red card, or a substitution can be reflected in the odds in a matter of seconds. The information travels from the field to the data provider, through the calculation models, trading systems, and suspension rules before finally reaching the bettor.

But the technology isn’t just for adjusting prices. From an integrity perspective, the systems can look for unusual concentrations of bets, coordinated movements between accounts, suspicious temporal patterns, price divergences, or abnormal activity in low-liquidity markets. An alert, Troise notes, does not in itself prove that manipulation exists: it serves as a signal for specialized teams to investigate.

AI makes it possible to detect and prioritize these patterns in near real time, but it does not eliminate human intervention. Troise cautions that we are still far from fully autonomous systems capable of understanding all the contexts of a match or compensating for poor-quality information. Effectiveness depends on a combination of reliable data, models, controls, risk management, and human oversight.
