Buenos Aires Awards 20-Year Operating Permit for Casino Sasso
Argentina.- 13 October 2026 | www.zonadeazar.com The Buenos Aires Provincial Institute of Lotteries and Casinos, IPLyC, has awarded a 20-year operating permit for the Casino Anexo I in Mar del Plata, located at Hotel Sasso.
The concession has been granted to a temporary consortium formed by UTHGRA and Yukon Technology S.A.
Resolution 1324/2026
The decision was formalised through Resolution No. 1324-IPLYCMGGP-2026.
The measure approved Public Tender No. 2/2025 covering Casino Sasso as part of a wider renewal process for provincial casino venues.
20-Year Contract
The permit will run for 20 years from the date the contract is signed.
The original tender framework also includes the possibility of a one-year extension at the discretion of IPLyC.
Full-Service Contract
The award covers a broad range of services connected with the operation of the venue.
These include:
- Supply of electronic gaming machines.
- Equipment maintenance.
- Online machine monitoring.
- Renovation and refurbishment of the casino.
- Additional services linked to gaming operations.
61% of Machine Profitability
The winning consortium will receive 61% of the monthly profitability generated by electronic gaming machines as consideration for its services.
Its original proposal was 65.90%.
During the evaluation process, the pre-award committee requested an improved offer and the consortium reduced the percentage to 61%, which was ultimately accepted.
UTHGRA and Yukon Technology
The award goes to the temporary consortium formed by Hotel Casino Sasso – UTHGRA & Yukon Technology S.A.
The partnership combines the structure associated with the hotel property with technology expertise linked to gaming operations.
Security Plan Approved
IPLyC also approved the security plan submitted for Casino Sasso.
The final contract will determine the exact number of police officers required to implement the security operation.
Illegal Gambling Measures
The concession also includes obligations related to combating illegal gambling.
The operator will be required to provide specific assets and resources connected with enforcement and security activities.
Additional Player Services
The agreement must also incorporate several services connected with the customer experience.
These include:
- Courtesy services.
- Promotickets.
- Player Club services.
The corresponding financial amounts will be determined later.
Other Tenders Declared Unsuccessful
As part of the same process, IPLyC declared the tender unsuccessful for casinos in:
- Necochea.
- Mar de Ajó.
- Sierra de la Ventana.
The original tender also included the Hotel Hermitage venue in Mar del Plata, Miramar and Tandil.
Provincial Casino Renewal
The tender forms part of a broader effort to modernise Buenos Aires Province’s official casino network.
The model combines private investment, technological renewal and continued state oversight of operations.
Next Steps or Impact
The next step will be the formal signing of the contract, from which point the 20-year term will begin.
The award secures long-term continuity for Casino Sasso while introducing commitments covering technology upgrades, refurbishment, security and regulatory control.
