Delta Corp Reports US$11.2 Million Loss Following Additional GST Charges
India.- 22 October 2026 | www.zonadeazar.com Delta Corp, one of India’s leading casino operators, reported a net loss of US$11.2 million for the quarter ended 30 September 2026.
The result marked the company’s second consecutive quarterly loss, primarily reflecting additional provisions related to India’s Goods and Services Tax (GST).
The financial results, reported on 21 October, also revealed a 13.4% year-on-year decline in casino gaming revenue.
Financial Losses and Tax Provisions
According to Delta Corp’s financial statements, the company’s consolidated net loss reached INR1.06 billion (US$11.2 million).
Although the result remained negative, it represented an improvement compared with the US$22.4 million loss recorded in the previous quarter.
Key financial indicators included:
- Quarterly net loss: US$11.2 million.
- Additional GST provision: US$14.4 million.
- Total provisions for the six-month period: US$46.7 million.
- Revenue from operations: US$16.8 million, down 12.8% year-on-year.
- Profit before exceptional items and tax: US$2.3 million, representing a 37.8% annual decline.
The figures demonstrate the financial impact of the company’s outstanding tax obligations.
GST Dispute Remains Unresolved
The provisions relate to tax liabilities involving transactions conducted between July 2017 and September 2025.
The dispute concerns the application of GST to casino gaming transactions and associated services.
Following a 27 May 2026 ruling by India’s Supreme Court, authorities issued further orders addressing the industry’s historical tax liabilities.
Delta Corp stated that the provisions had been recognised as a precautionary accounting measure, while maintaining that it has strong legal grounds to challenge significant portions of the tax demands.
The company also disclosed a payment made after the quarter ended of INR809.7 million (US$8.5 million) in connection with a tax adjudication order.
Casino Revenue Falls 13.4%
Delta Corp’s core casino business also experienced weaker trading conditions.
Quarterly casino revenue reached US$15.9 million, representing a 13.4% year-on-year decline.
Segment profit fell 14.3% compared with the same period in 2025, although it improved by 33.7% compared with the preceding quarter.
The operator continues to face operational challenges at certain properties.
King Casino remained closed throughout the six-month period while the company prepared to introduce a replacement vessel.
Resuming operations will depend on obtaining the required regulatory approvals and judicial permission.
Flooding Affects Hospitality Operations
Delta Corp’s hospitality division generated approximately US$827,000 in revenue, a 5.5% year-on-year decline.
One contributing factor was the temporary closure of The Deltin, Daman, following severe flooding caused by monsoon rains.
The property suspended operations for 37 days before returning to normal activity on 29 August 2026.
The disruption affected the division’s performance during the reporting period.
Next Steps and Industry Impact
Delta Corp will continue managing its tax obligations while pursuing legal proceedings concerning the disputed GST liabilities.
The outcome of these proceedings will be important in determining the company’s ultimate financial exposure.
For India’s gaming industry, the results demonstrate how tax disputes, regulatory costs and operational disruptions can affect casino profitability.
The case also highlights the importance of clear and predictable taxation rules for operators in regulated markets.
