IZI Group Exceeds €1 Billion in Turnover for the First Time
Malta.- 7 October 2026 | www.zonadeazar.com IZI Group exceeded €1 billion in annual turnover for the first time during the financial year ended 30 June 2026, driven primarily by growth at National Lottery and strong performance across its casino and interactive gaming operations.
Group turnover reached €1.172 billion, representing year-on-year growth of 27.4%.
Player Winnings Also Exceed €1 Billion
Player winnings reached €1.060 billion, an increase of 28.4% compared with the previous financial year.
As a result, both turnover and player winnings passed the €1 billion threshold for the first time.
GGR Reaches €110.9 Million
Group Gross Gaming Revenue increased by 18.3% to €110.9 million.
The result reflects continued expansion across IZI Group’s core gaming businesses in Malta.
EBITDA Up 29.1%
IZI Group also recorded significant profitability growth.
EBITDA reached €37.3 million, representing a 29.1% increase year-on-year.
Pre-Tax Profit Doubles
Operating profit rose 63.8% to €19.4 million.
Profit before tax increased by approximately 102% to €14.4 million.
National Lottery Drives Growth
The company attributed the improvement primarily to the performance of National Lottery plc.
IZI Group operates Malta’s National Lottery as exclusive concessionaire while also maintaining casino and interactive gaming operations.
Dragonara Casino and Digital Gaming
National Lottery growth was complemented by continued strong performance from Dragonara Casino and the group’s interactive gaming portfolio.
This combination enabled IZI Group to outperform its financial targets for the year.
€41.8 Million Contribution to Malta and Social Causes
IZI Group also reported a total contribution of €41.8 million through:
- Concession fees.
- Gaming taxes.
- Social Causes Fund contributions.
- Responsible Gaming Foundation contributions.
- Sponsorships.
The amount represented 37.7% of the group’s annual GGR.

IZI Group Founder and Group CEO Johann Schembri said the results exceeded all targets and reflected investments in people, technology, products and distribution capabilities.
He also stressed that the growth was achieved while maintaining the group’s commitment to responsible gaming, integrity and high governance standards.
Investment Programme
IZI Group said it has substantially completed its major investment programme across its Malta-based operations.
The company believes those investments have strengthened its financial position and created a platform for the next phase of its strategy.

The group is also pursuing opportunities beyond Malta.
