However, other operators in the region reported declines, including L’Auberge Baton Rouge and The Queen of Baton Rouge.
Sports Betting Delivers Mixed Results
Unlike the positive trend in land-based casino gaming, Louisiana’s sports betting market delivered mixed results.
Total wagers reached approximately US$405 million during September, an increase of 1% year-on-year.
However, sportsbook revenue amounted to approximately US$45 million, representing a 7% decline.
The figures demonstrate that higher betting volumes do not necessarily translate into stronger operator revenue.
Industry Impact and Outlook
September’s results indicate an improvement across Louisiana’s leading casino markets.
Growth at properties including Caesars New Orleans, Golden Nugget Lake Charles and Live! Casino contributed to the industry’s positive performance.
For the US gambling industry, the figures highlight the continuing importance of land-based casinos within regulated markets, while also demonstrating significant differences between regions and gaming activities.
