Sportradar and Minas Gerais Football Federation Promote Integrity Training

Brazil – May 22, 2025 – www.zonadeazar.com – The Minas Gerais Football Federation (FMF), in partnership with Sportradar, held an integrity training session on sports betting at Arena Independência.

The initiative aimed to guide referees, officials, and other stakeholders in Minas Gerais football on how to identify and combat match-fixing in competitions.

Felippe Marchetti, Sportradar’s Director of Integrity Partnerships for Latin America, led the training. The initiative is part of a series of educational efforts the sports technology company has been conducting with clubs and federations worldwide.

According to Gabriel Cunha, FMF’s Director of Competitions, it is crucial to raise awareness of this issue among football professionals.

“Integrity is the foundation of any sport. Therefore, raising awareness among all football stakeholders is essential to preserving fair play. FMF is committed to following the best practices in governance and ethics in sports,” he stated.

Sportradar Brought Real Cases to FMF Professionals

During the workshop, participants were presented with real cases involving methodologies used by criminal organizations and the monitoring mechanisms Sportradar applies through its cutting-edge technology.

Felippe Marchetti explained that match-fixing schemes are increasingly diverse, and staying up to date is essential to fight this crime within sports institutions.

“Match-fixing methods have become more sophisticated, making it essential for everyone in the sports environment to be prepared to recognize and report such practices.”

“Information is a powerful tool in combating this crime. We believe that education and awareness are key pillars in our collective effort to protect football’s integrity,” he emphasized.

FMF once again demonstrates innovation and continuous improvement through this partnership with Sportradar. The program is part of Sportradar’s global integrity system’s preventive actions.

In addition, similar training sessions have been held with clubs such as Palmeiras, Sport, Vitória, Náutico, and Athletico-PR. However, FMF is the first football federation in Brazil to receive training from the company specifically focused on refereeing.
