Brazil.- July 4, 2024 www.zonadeazar.com Senator Irajá, rapporteur of the text of the Bill on casinos and gambling at the Senate’s CCJ, seeks to speed up the processing of the project before the legislative recess, which will take place next 18th. On June 19th, the Senate’s Constitution and Justice Committee (CCJ) took an important step by approving the release of gambling in Brazil, including casinos, bingos and Jogo do Bicho.

In a very close vote with 14 votes in favor and 12 against. A historic milestone for new directions for the famous games that are becoming increasingly popular in the country.

“I trust President Pacheco’s common sense so that we can vote before the recess. We need to close this issue of the casino PL to move on to another agenda, which is the regulation of the measure”, stated Irajá.

Fernando Haddad publicly defended PL

On the night of last Tuesday, 2nd, the senator met with the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad to discuss the Bill that will allow the opening of casinos and bingos in Brazil, in addition to legalizing gambling and other forms of games.

After the meeting, Fernando Haddad publicly defended the PL and stated that: “All OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) countries, practically, almost all G20 countries and, looking across the globe, almost all countries , more than 90%, regulated”
