Brazil.- January 10, 2025 www.zonadeazar.com Rasmus Sojmark: “Brazil, with its dynamic and rapidly evolving market, demands a deep understanding of its complexities.”
For brands seeking to capitalize on Brazil’s recently regulated market, strict compliance with evolving regulations is essential for a successful and sustainable entry.
The upcoming edition of the SBC Summit Rio will provide 15,000 industry professionals with essential insights into compliance strategies, regulatory developments, and updates on Brazil’s changing landscape through its specialized Regulation & Compliance session.
The dedicated educational program will kick off on Wednesday, February 26, the first central day of Brazil’s premier gaming and sports betting event, held at Riocentro, Rio de Janeiro.
Rasmus Sojmark, CEO and founder of SBC, stated:
“As Brazil moves toward full regulation and technology continues to advance, staying informed on the latest regulatory and compliance developments is critical to any brand’s success.”
“Brazil, with its dynamic and rapidly evolving market, demands a deep understanding of its complexities. That’s why we’ve introduced a specialized session to equip delegates with the information they need, whether they are entering the market or already operating within it and adapting to the new environment,” he added.
Delegates can look forward to in-depth discussions on the future regulation of land-based casinos, strategies for smaller operators to manage rising license fees, factors driving international mergers and acquisitions, and innovative approaches for lotteries to modernize their offerings while ensuring compliance.
The panel titled Lotteries: From Tradition to Innovation will explore how traditional lotteries can innovate their offerings while maintaining regulatory compliance. Industry experts such as Hugo Baungartner (VP of Global Markets, Aposta Ganha), Felipe Maximino (VP of Tech & Operations, Sorte Online), and Marco Taurisano (CEO, Kroopiê Consulting and Training) will discuss how lotteries are embracing innovation to remain competitive and sustainable, while addressing modern approaches to tackling market challenges.

The session will conclude with Rising Mergers and Acquisitions: The Fate of Local Champions, exploring how international brand investments could increase the financial burden of regulatory fees for smaller operations.
