According to the Superintendence of Gaming Casinos (SCJ), gross revenues reached CLP 554.537 billion, equivalent to $588.2 million. This figure represented a 4.5% decline compared to the previous year, as highlighted by the SCJ in a statement.

In 2024, a total of 6,775,026 people visited casinos across the country, marking a 4.8% decrease compared to 2023. The average spending per visitor was CLP 78,496, reflecting a 3.3% real-term contraction.

The SCJ reaffirmed that the revenue decline resulted in lower tax collection for public funds.

Tax Impact

Regarding fiscal contributions, the 22 casinos regulated under Law 19.995 contributed CLP 196.833 billion ($208.7 million) in taxes to the State. This amount represented a 4% real-term decrease.

Among these contributions, CLP 85.117 billion was allocated to the Specific Gaming Tax, which is equally distributed between regional governments and municipalities to fund public works.

Additionally, the Value Added Tax (VAT) on gaming revenues amounted to CLP 82.257 billion, while the Entry Tax for Gaming Halls totaled CLP 29.459 billion, directed to the general national fund.

Performance of Key Casinos

On an individual level, Casino Monticello de Dreams led tax contributions, totaling CLP 40.762.8 billion ($43.2 million). It was followed by Enjoy Viña del Mar, which contributed CLP 21.819.8 billion ($23.1 million). Other notable establishments included Marina del Sol Talcahuano and Enjoy Santiago.

Enjoy Viña del Mar remained one of the top contributors, reporting CLP 31.112.3 billion ($33 million), followed by other significant casinos such as Enjoy Coquimbo and Enjoy Pucón.

This scenario underscored the importance of casinos in the local economy, despite the economic downturn. The SCJ emphasized that these contributions are processed by the General Treasury of the Republic and subsequently distributed.
