São Paulo, April 10, 2026 www.zonadeazar.com – Oddin.gg took part in BiS SiGMA South America 2026, one of the leading industry events in Latin America, by joining the panel “World Cup and eSports: Convergences, Synergies and the Future of Digital Betting”, held on Thursday afternoon (9).
The discussion was moderated by Juan Matias Méndez, Business Development Manager at Oddin.gg, and featured key industry figures: Carlos Gama, VP of Gaming and eSports at ASSESPRO-RJ; Thaise Jupiter, Regional Sales Lead for Brazil at BETBY; Samuel Vilar, Betting Director at UX Group; and Leandro Valentim, Founder and CEO of Player1 Gaming Group.
During the panel, participants discussed key topics shaping the future of the sector, including business development in sports, increasing integration with the gaming universe, and the evolution of interactive user participation on digital platforms. They also addressed the growth of titles such as Counter-Strike and League of Legends, the relevance of eSports within betting platforms, the importance of regional dynamics for operators, and even the possibility of creating an eSports Olympic Games.
Throughout the discussion, Juan Matias Méndez presented data on the global evolution of eSports and raised a reflection on Brazil’s potential in the competitive landscape:
“Why couldn’t Brazil become the country of eSports? Just as we have Rayssa Leal in skateboarding and João Fonseca in tennis, why can’t we have major idols in eSports as well?”, he questioned.
The panel also highlighted the growing convergence between the FIFA World Cup and the eSports ecosystem, particularly regarding audience behaviour, betting formats, data usage, and operational models. The discussion showed how large-scale, cyclical sporting events can coexist with—and even drive—the continuous and dynamic nature of eSports.
