Speaking during a Senate session, Alcolumbre said he would personally discuss the matter with Chamber President Hugo Motta in an effort to move the legislation forward.

The bill, approved by the Senate in May 2025, introduces significant restrictions on betting advertising. It prohibits athletes, entertainers, media personalities, digital influencers and public officials from appearing in betting promotions and limits the broadcasting of betting advertisements, particularly during sporting events.

If approved by the Chamber without amendments, the bill will proceed directly to presidential assent. Should deputies modify the proposal, it will return to the Senate for further consideration.
