Zona de Azar Brazil – Sportradar: “Clube Atlético Mineiro Receives Integrity Workshop”
Brazil – September 10, 2024 www.zonadeazar.com Sportradar, a global leader in sports technology, hosted an integrity workshop for the men’s professional team of Clube Atlético Mineiro last Thursday (September 5) at Cidade do Galo, in Belo Horizonte.
The goal of the initiative is to protect Brazilian football from match-fixing. Players and the coaching staff participated to learn how to identify and avoid this harmful practice in sports.
Information is the Best Weapon
Felippe Marchetti, Integrity Partnerships Manager at Sportradar Brazil, emphasized the importance of being vigilant: “The methods used to manipulate results are becoming increasingly sophisticated. Therefore, it is essential that everyone involved in sports is prepared to recognize and report such practices.”
Felippe, who is responsible for Sportradar’s integrity training in Brazil, added: “Information is one of the most powerful tools we have to combat this crime. It was also gratifying to see the interest from Atlético’s players during the presentation. Education and awareness are crucial to addressing this issue together and protecting football.”
During the workshop, players were presented with real-life cases illustrating the risks and consequences of match-fixing. The company also explained how advanced technologies and detailed analyses are used to monitor sports competitions.
“It is very important for the club to raise awareness among its athletes on this subject. We regularly highlight the risks and approaches they may encounter, encouraging extra caution. We also offer our legal department to work with the football department to ensure we take all necessary precautions and avoid being harmed,” said Football Director Victor Bagy.
Sportradar’s Workshop Reaches All Regions of Brazil
“We encourage all players to report any harassment, as this is the only way we can fight to eradicate this harmful practice, which is detrimental both to the athlete and the institution,” Victor added.
This workshop is part of a series of training sessions that Sportradar conducts at clubs and federations in Brazil and worldwide. In addition to Atlético Mineiro, Palmeiras, Náutico, Sport, and Vitória, as well as the Minas Gerais Football Federation and various northeastern federations, have already participated in these educational and preventive initiatives.
The Integrity Education and Prevention programs are part of Sportradar’s anti-match-fixing services.
