Brazil: Ten of the 16 Clubs in the Women’s Brasileirão Are Sponsored by Betting Companies

Brazil – March 26, 2025 – www.zonadeazar.com The 2025 Campeonato Brasileiro Feminino A1 recently kicked off, bringing some significant updates. The most notable is the 20% increase in total prize money granted by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), reaching R$ 8.25 million in allocations and prizes, compared to 2024. The Corinthians, last year’s champion, received R$ 2 million in total.
Additionally, the CBF allowed an increase in the number of professionals traveling with team delegations. Clubs can now travel with 30 members, with transportation, logistics, and food costs covered by the federation.
FIFA Anti-Racism Protocol
The women’s national competition will also implement FIFA’s anti-racism protocol, which consists of three stages and includes the creation of a global gesture against racism in football.
This gesture involves crossing arms in an X shape to denounce racist acts. Referees, players, and competition officials can signal this act. Players and officials must report incidents to the referee using this gesture.
Betting Companies Sponsoring Women’s Football
Another essential revenue source for the 16 teams competing this year comes from sponsors. Ten of them have main sponsorship deals with betting companies, signed alongside their men’s teams.
Examples of this trend include Corinthians with Esportes da Sorte, Internacional with Alfa, and Juventude with Stake.
Brands recognize that women’s football in Brazil is growing not only financially but also in terms of exposure, audience, and technical improvements. This is reinforced by Brazil being chosen as the host for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Sofia Aldin, CMO of Esportes da Sorte, highlights:
*”Women’s football is one of our company’s biggest investments and a fundamental pillar of our strategy. We value female strength and representation and aim to reflect that in our activations.
We believe in this sport’s potential and want to contribute to its growth and visibility. Moreover, our affinity with women’s football is natural since we have strong female leadership within our company. This is a great opportunity to boost women’s protagonism in sports.”*
Exclusive Betting Sponsorship for a Women’s Team
Ferroviária, despite its men’s team not competing in the top divisions, maintains a solid sponsorship deal with GaleraBet for women’s football. The partnership is now in its second year.
Marcos Sabiá, CEO of the company, comments:
“Ferroviária’s women’s team is one of the strongest in Brazilian and South American football. Their major achievements, such as winning the Libertadores and the Brazilian Championship twice, highlight their outstanding work on and off the field.”
