Caixa Hires Procomp to Maintain More Than 50,000 Lottery Terminals
Brazil.- 27 August 2026 | www.zonadeazar.com Caixa Econômica Federal has signed a R$115.99 million contract with Procomp Indústria Eletrônica to provide technical support and maintenance for Financial Lottery Terminals installed across its Brazilian retail network.
The agreement covers an infrastructure of more than 50,000 terminals distributed across approximately 13,000 lottery outlets nationwide.
Nationwide Maintenance
Procomp will be responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance at the locations where the equipment is installed.
The contracted services include:
- Technical support.
- Preventive maintenance.
- Corrective maintenance.
- Replacement of parts.
- Replacement of components and accessories.
- Installation or reinstallation of basic terminal software.
The work is intended to support the operational continuity of a critical part of Caixa’s lottery infrastructure.
More Than 50,000 Terminals
The network currently includes more than 50,000 Financial Lottery Terminals.
The machines are distributed across approximately 13,000 lottery outlets throughout Brazil.
These terminals form an important part of the technology infrastructure used by the retail network on a daily basis.
R$115.99 Million Contract
The total value of the contract is R$115.99 million.
The size of the agreement reflects both the scale of the current network and the technical-support requirements associated with tens of thousands of devices distributed across the country.
Comparison with 2013 Contract
The agreement also represents a significant increase compared with a maintenance contract from 2013.
At the time, ATP Tecnologia e Produtos submitted a R$57.23 million proposal to maintain 31,250 terminals for 24 months.
In nominal terms, Procomp’s current contract is more than double the value of that earlier agreement.
Larger Technology Network
Part of the difference can be attributed to the expansion of the terminal network.
While the 2013 contract covered 31,250 devices, the current estate consists of more than 50,000 terminals.
A larger installed base also creates greater requirements for technical assistance, replacement parts and maintenance across Brazil.
Ageing Equipment
A significant share of the terminals currently in service is estimated to be between 11 and 13 years old.
That is longer than the estimated average life cycle of five to seven years for certain banking equipment and POS terminals.
Older equipment can increase failure rates, parts requirements and the volume of technical service calls.
Strategic Infrastructure for Caixa
Terminal availability is essential to the everyday operation of Brazil’s lottery outlets.
A nationwide network requires the capacity to respond to technical failures, replace components and reinstall systems when necessary.
The Procomp agreement is intended to provide that support structure across the country.
