Entain Strengthens Technology Across 2,000+ Ladbrokes Coral Shops

United Kingdom.- 11 August 2026 | www.zonadeazar.com Entain has signed a three-year agreement with Barron McCann to provide technology support and infrastructure services across more than 2,000 Ladbrokes and Coral betting shops in the United Kingdom.

The contract will cover a substantial proportion of the group’s retail estate and is intended to maintain the operational continuity of devices and technology systems used across its betting shops.

News Details

The agreement includes multi-device engineering support, infrastructure lifecycle services and technical assistance seven days a week.

Barron McCann will also provide extended operating hours and a four-day hardware repair service.

The transition to the new technology-support structure began approximately three months before the announcement and was implemented during the FIFA World Cup held across June and July.

Services will cover much of the Ladbrokes and Coral estate, which collectively comprises more than 2,300 shops across the UK.

Industry Context

The agreement comes at a challenging time for Britain’s land-based betting sector, with operators facing higher operating costs, increased taxation and continued migration towards digital channels.

Several companies have recently reduced their retail estates as major omnichannel groups reassess the role physical betting shops will play within their future strategies.

Entain’s new contract demonstrates continued investment in Ladbrokes and Coral’s retail infrastructure, particularly in technology directly used by customers.

This includes Betstation self-service betting terminals, which have become an important component of the modern retail experience across both brands.

Statements

Paul Williams, Chief Executive Officer of Barron McCann Group, highlighted the opportunity to provide Entain with a more flexible and efficient technology-support structure.

He said the approach is designed to move away from rigid and expensive manufacturer models towards a more agile repair ecosystem based partly on circular-economy principles.

Fiona Wallace, Entain’s Head of Self-Service Betting Terminals, said Betstation terminals play an important role in the experience provided to customers.

She also highlighted Barron McCann’s technical capabilities, operational flexibility and focus on innovation throughout the tender process.

Next Steps or Impact

The agreement will provide three years of technology support across a substantial part of the Ladbrokes and Coral retail network.

The investment will enable Entain to maintain and develop its physical infrastructure while continuing to pursue an omnichannel strategy combining retail and digital betting.

At a time when several competitors are reducing their high-street presence, the contract also indicates that Entain continues to see a meaningful role for betting shops within its wider wagering ecosystem.
