Konami Expands Portfolio with New Class II Gaming Offering
United States.- 17 September 2026 | www.zonadeazar.com Konami Gaming is expanding its presence in the US tribal casino market through a new Class II gaming portfolio, giving the company access to jurisdictions where Class III products are unavailable or face tighter restrictions.
The expansion builds on Konami’s acquisition of ISDgames and the adaptation of established casino content to bingo-based gaming systems.
ISDgames Acquisition
Konami’s Class II move accelerated with the acquisition of ISDgames.
The transaction brought a dedicated Class II system and titles including Shockwave into the company’s portfolio, creating a foundation from which Konami could develop a wider proprietary library.
The company subsequently spent time reviewing and improving the technology before pursuing broader deployment.
Building an In-House Library
Deron Hunsberger, Vice President of North American Game Sales at Konami Gaming, said the company did not simply want to acquire an existing system.
Its objective was to combine that technology with a sufficiently broad library of Konami-developed content suitable for multiple Class II markets.
Six Washington Casinos
Konami has already launched Class II products across six properties in Washington:
- Tulalip Resort Casino.
- Quil Ceda Creek Casino.
- ilani Casino Hotel.
- Angel of the Winds Casino Resort.
- Muckleshoot Casino Resort.
- Little Creek Casino Resort.
Washington has therefore become one of the company’s principal early Class II markets.
Texas and Florida Operations
The supplier also has Class II operations in Texas and at Miccosukee Casino & Resort in Florida.
Texas is particularly important because it provides access to casino customers in a market where Konami’s Class III products previously had limited or no comparable reach.
What Class II Means
Under the US regulatory structure, Class II encompasses certain bingo-based products and electronic games built around that underlying mechanic.
Although the player-facing experience can resemble a traditional slot, the game outcome is generated through a bingo-based system rather than the conventional Class III mathematical model.
That distinction creates significant technical requirements for manufacturers.
Adapting Class III Content
One of Konami’s main challenges is converting games originally created for Class III environments.
The underlying mathematics must be adapted to function through a bingo-based draw while preserving as much as possible of the original player experience.
DIMENSION Leads Initial Rollout
Konami launched its Class II offering initially on the DIMENSION cabinet.
The company is combining established titles from its existing catalogue with content designed for the new system.
Additional cabinets and games are expected as the portfolio expands.
Tribal Gaming Relationships
The strategy is closely connected to Konami’s long-standing relationships with tribal gaming operators.
Class II allows the supplier to provide a broader range of content to those customers while entering jurisdictions governed by different gaming frameworks from traditional commercial casino markets.
Alabama Under Consideration
Konami is in active discussions regarding a potential entry into Alabama.
The company is also assessing further opportunities in Washington.
However, management intends to expand gradually rather than pursue every available market at once.
Infrastructure and Field Support
Class II products operate through networked systems.
Each new market therefore requires appropriate technical infrastructure and sufficient field-service resources to support casino partners.
Konami wants those capabilities in place before undertaking additional deployments.
Measured Expansion Strategy
The company has emphasised a deliberate approach.
Before entering a jurisdiction, it intends to ensure that it has enough content, service capability and technical support to make the product successful.
The focus is on sustainable deployments rather than rapid geographic expansion.
Part of a Broader Portfolio
Class II joins an existing Konami portfolio spanning Class III gaming, Historical Horse Racing, VGT, iGaming and casino management systems.
This gives the supplier exposure to a wider range of regulatory models without depending on a single gaming category.
G2E Las Vegas 2026
Konami will showcase Class II products at G2E Las Vegas 2026 alongside more than 50 new game themes across several hardware formats.
Its exhibition at The Venetian Expo runs from 29 September to 1 October.
Class II will appear alongside Class III, iGaming, Historical Horse Racing, VGT and systems technology.
Industry Context
Class II remains a strategically important segment of the US tribal gaming market.
For global manufacturers, it offers access to casinos and states where regulatory structures restrict certain forms of commercial gaming.
Success depends not only on strong game content but also on accurately adapting mathematics, maintaining reliable networks and delivering specialised field support.
Next Steps and Impact
Konami will continue expanding its Class II library while evaluating new jurisdictions gradually.
Its initial presence across Washington, Texas and Florida shows that the company has moved beyond development into commercial deployment.
The next challenge will be scaling without compromising technical stability or operator support.
Class II gives Konami another route into the US tribal market and adds a further layer to a land-based strategy designed to serve almost every major gaming category.
