OAB SP to Host Debate on Football, Betting and Integrity

Brazil.- 12 August 2026 | www.zonadeazar.com The São Paulo section of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB SP) will hold a technical meeting on 19 August to examine the principal legal, regulatory and integrity challenges currently affecting football and the sports betting market in Brazil.

The event will begin at 2pm at the Federação Paulista de Futebol (FPF) auditorium in São Paulo and will bring together representatives from the legal, regulatory, sporting and commercial sectors.

The programme will be divided into three panels.

The first, scheduled for 2pm, will focus on Financial Fair Play and feature Gustavo Delbin, Vice-President of the Federação Paulista de Futebol and President of OAB/SP’s Sports Law Commission; Luiz Felipe Santoro, President of OAB SP’s Gambling, Betting and Responsible Gaming Law Commission; André Lavieri, Director at Alvarez & Marsal; and Igor Santiago, Director at ANRESF.

At 3.45pm, the panel Betting Advertising and Combating Illegal Platforms will bring together Beatriz Gimenez Costa, Vitor Ferreira, Guilherme Augusto Figueiredo and Fábio Macorin.

The final discussion, scheduled for 5pm, will address integrity and the fight against competition manipulation, with Mariana Chamelette, Renato Renatino, José Francisco Manssur and Anna Diedrich.

The event comes at a time of significant transformation for Brazil’s sports betting market, with the federal regulated framework becoming established, new advertising requirements taking effect and authorities increasing efforts against illegal operators.

Sports integrity also remains a central issue, particularly given the risks associated with match manipulation and the misuse of betting markets.

The inclusion of Financial Fair Play broadens the scope of the meeting to include the economic and regulatory sustainability of football clubs.

The initiative is organised by OAB SP’s Sports Law Commission and Gambling, Betting and Responsible Gaming Law Commission, together with OAB SP Cultural and with support from the Federação Paulista de Futebol and Betano.

The event will seek to contribute to clearer approaches towards regulation, advertising, integrity and financial sustainability within Brazilian football.
