Wynn Al Marjan Island Advances First Beachfront Destination
United Arab Emirates.- 13 August 2026 | www.zonadeazar.com Wynn Resorts has confirmed further construction progress at Wynn Al Marjan Island, its integrated resort development in Ras Al Khaimah and the company’s first destination built around a beachfront setting.
The resort will feature approximately 550 metres of beachfront, a sheltered lagoon and engineered reef structures, with opening now scheduled for September 2027.
Beachfront Development
The newly completed shoreline is arranged around a protected lagoon designed for swimming and snorkelling.
Submerged rock formations have been positioned at both ends of the beach to enhance the natural appearance of the shoreline and improve water conditions.
Wynn has also installed engineered reef structures offshore with the aim of accelerating the development of marine habitats.
The company said initial signs indicate that coral and marine life are already beginning to colonise the reef units.
Wynn’s First Beachfront Destination
The development represents a new concept within Wynn Resorts’ international portfolio.
Max Tappeiner, President of Wynn Al Marjan Island, described the property as Wynn Resorts’ first beachfront destination.
He said the objective is to provide guests with a private shoreline environment combining calm water, direct beach access and the luxury service traditionally associated with the Wynn brand.
Statements
Max Tappeiner said:
“The ambition was to create a shoreline where guests can escape, somewhere they can swim in calm, clear water and enjoy the beachfront in complete privacy.”
He added:
“Wynn Al Marjan Island gives us the opportunity to create something entirely new for our portfolio, where exceptional surroundings and intuitive service come together in a way only Wynn can deliver.”
Project Context
Wynn Al Marjan Island was first announced in 2022.
In October 2024, Wynn Resorts received the first land-based commercial gaming licence issued to date by the UAE’s General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority.
The resort had originally been targeting an opening in March 2027.
However, construction was temporarily suspended in February amid conflict in the Middle East and resumed in March after the company implemented measures to safeguard employees.
Wynn subsequently confirmed that the revised opening date is September 2027.
Investment and Next Steps
During the second quarter, Wynn Resorts contributed a further US$48.1 million to development of the property.
The company holds a 40% stake in the project.
As construction progresses, the resort will continue adding hospitality, entertainment and luxury elements, including a fine-art gallery featuring paintings, 17th-century tapestries, Victorian cut glass and historic decorative pieces.
The new beachfront infrastructure further strengthens Wynn Al Marjan Island’s position as one of the most significant integrated resort projects currently under development in the Middle East.
