Statements
Craig Billings, Chief Executive Officer of Wynn Resorts, said:
“It is a very competitive market. It has been stable, particularly with respect to the promotional environment and reinvestment.”
Discussing the company’s approach to VIP credit, he stated:
“We tend to be very prudent with credit. We and others in the market have longstanding relationships with particular customers to whom we extend credit, which can help make those customers loyal.”
Commenting on the mass-market segment, he added:
“We are very focused on one particular customer type, and that happens to be the customer type driving the market at the moment.”
Next Steps or Impact
The company reported that VIP rolling-chip volumes and mass-market table drop began the third quarter slightly below the previous year’s levels due to the FIFA World Cup and normal seasonality.
Activity improved during the second half of July as the summer holiday period began, with the recovery continuing into early August.
Wynn will seek to maintain growth by attracting further premium and mass-market customers while preserving discipline around credit and promotional investment.
