Zona de Azar Brasil – BIG Brazil Requests License to Operate Sports Betting and Online Games
Brazil.- July 31, 2024 www.zonadeazar.com BIG Brazil Tecnologia e Loteria, which will operate the Caesars Sportsbook brand in the country, submitted a request for authorization to the Prizes and Betting Secretariat of the Ministry of Finance (SPA/MF) to operate the fixed odds betting market and online games, following all guidelines and ordinances (SPA/MF 827/24) from the Ministry of Finance.
The request was filed with SIGAP (Betting Management System), a public platform that allows the monitoring and inspection of sports betting. The platform is the second Brazilian company and the fifth to request registration in the country and follows Betano, SuperBet, Rei do Pitaco and Sportingbet.
In February this year, the company BIG Brazil obtained the licensing of the Caesars Sportsbook brand, a division of Caesars Entertainment, to launch sports betting operations in the country.
BIG Brazil already had a partnership with Caesars through the operation in Brazil of the World Series of Poker® (WSOP®) brand, the largest poker tournament in the world. Caesars Entertainment Corporation is an American gaming conglomerate that operates around 50 casinos and hotels, including some in Las Vegas.
In April this year, it signed a partnership with NeoGames S.A, a technology provider of complete iGaming and iLottery solutions, to boost the operator’s entry into the newly regulated online betting and gaming market in the country.
In July, BiG Brazil and Integrity Compliance 360 (IC360) announced a partnership, which will provide access to IC360 integrity monitoring technology. Proprietary integrity monitoring technology analyzes multiple data sets to proactively identify irregular officiating and contest-level wagering patterns. BIG Brazil will be able to count on the same company that serves Caesar’s in the United States, a monitoring and containment model for fraud prevention.
This week, BiG Brazil carried out the Proof of Concept (PoC) of the Rio de Janeiro State Lottery – LOTERJ to operate fixed-odd sports betting and online games in the State of Rio de Janeiro.
“We are going to enter the country with the Caesars Sportsbook brand, starting with Rio de Janeiro, which has a population of more than 16 million inhabitants and potential greater than several European countries with the same population as the state. But we aim to also apply for a federal license and the Rio de Janeiro operation will be the group’s calling card for the national operation, scheduled to begin in 2025.
