Since the registration in SIGAP was made before August 20, Novibet International will have priority in the analysis by the Ministry of Finance, which has promised to review and, if the requirements meet SPA regulations, grant an operating license to all applicants who submit their request within the first deadline by December 31.
Panagiotis Skyrlas, Director of International Expansion at Novibet, stated: “We are super excited to be part of the first group of companies in Brazil to submit a request to obtain a license. Novibet has always advocated for regulation and responsible gaming.”
“We have a long history of operating in highly regulated markets and launched in Brazil as soon as we became aware of the plans to regulate the sector. Submitting our petition for a license is an important step on our path to participating in the regulated market,” added Skyrlas.
Novibet’s Expansion in Brazil
In May of this year, the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) announced that Novibet is its newest member. The sports betting operator holds licenses in several European countries and also aimed to obtain one in Brazil.
“At Novibet, our commitment to transparency has always been at the core of everything we do. Joining IBIA is a testament to this commitment, as we continuously strive to set new standards of integrity and excellence in the online betting industry,” Skyrlas said at the time.
