UK.- July 23, 2024 www.zonadeazar.com Entain has announced the appointment of industry veteran Gavin Isaacs as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective September 2.

Isaacs takes over from Stella David, who has served as interim CEO since Jette Nygaard-Andersen’s departure late last year. David will assume the role of chair at the end of September, succeeding Barry Gibson.

Isaacs, who recently chaired Games Global, brings extensive experience from senior roles in the gambling sector, including positions at DraftKings, SBTech, Scientific Games, and Aristocrat. He also has a background in the legal sector, having spent over 12 years there.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Isaacs stated, “I am very excited to lead Entain. The company’s iconic brands, exceptional talent, and its focused strategy will help us regain a leadership position across all areas. I am confident in Entain’s bright future and look forward to leveraging upcoming opportunities to create value for all stakeholders.”

Outgoing interim CEO David welcomed Isaacs’ appointment, noting, “The progress made so far has set a strong foundation for the future. With Gavin’s leadership, I am confident we will achieve our ambitious plans for Entain.”

Gibson also expressed confidence in Isaacs, stating, “Gavin’s proven leadership and operational expertise make him the right choice to guide Entain into its next chapter. I also want to thank Stella David and the Entain team for their significant contributions and progress towards our strategic goals.”

Isaacs’ appointment comes after a period of transition at Entain. The company has been seeking a permanent CEO since Nygaard-Andersen’s resignation in December, following a challenging time that included a £936.5 million net loss for 2023 due to a deferred prosecution agreement related to historic activities in Turkey.

The new leadership under Isaacs will address ongoing challenges and capitalize on growth opportunities. As G2E approaches, Entain is expected to continue its strategic efforts to enhance its market position and operational performance.
