Zona de Azar Brazil – Brazil: Bettors Have 10 Days to Withdraw Funds from Illegal Sites

Brazil.- October 2, 2024 www.zonadeazar.com The deadline for betting companies to register with SIGAP (Betting Management System) ended yesterday, September 30, but some betting companies are still registering in the system linked to the Ministry of Finance.

According to an ordinance published in September, unregistered betting companies will be blocked by Anatel.

Last Monday, the 30th, Finance Minister Fernando Haddad stated that around 600 betting companies will be blocked. According to him, all of these have not requested registration with SIGAP and are therefore considered illegal in Brazil’s online betting market.

“There are about 500 or 600 betting sites that will go offline in the coming days because Anatel will block access,” Haddad said.

During the interview, Haddad advised bettors to withdraw their funds from the sites while they are still operational. According to the ordinance, bettors using unauthorized betting companies will be able to withdraw their rightful funds until October 10. Starting from October 11, 2024, sites that have not requested accreditation will be banned and taken offline.

“If you have money in a betting company, request a refund now,” Fernando Haddad recommended.

As of the publication of this article, 186 betting companies had registered with SIGAP, and despite the deadline being until 11:59 p.m. yesterday, one company registered on October 1. Follow the companies that have already applied for a license with the Ministry of Finance by clicking here.
