Zona de Azar Brazil – Brazil Prepares to Host the Largest Women’s World Cup in History

Brazil – December 12, 2024 – www.zonadeazar.com The 2027 Women’s World Cup, which will be held in Brazil, already has an official schedule. The tournament will begin on June 24 and end on July 25. The announcement was made by FIFA President Gianni Infantino on Tuesday (10), in Zurich, Switzerland. The Ministry of Sports has been working intensively, positioning Brazil as a prepared and committed host.

For the first time, the competition will be hosted in South America, a milestone that reflects the current administration’s efforts to bring the event to the country. “It was a wish of President Lula, and we are working alongside the CBF to organize the biggest and best Cup in history. Brazil is ready: we have stadiums, logistics, and all the infrastructure necessary for the tournament. The Federal Government will play a crucial role,” said the Minister of Sports, André Fufuca. Host cities are expected to be announced in early 2025.

Organizing the World Cup is part of the government’s policy to promote greater participation of women in football. The Ministry of Sports leads the National Strategy for Women’s Football, with various initiatives that reinforce the Federal Government’s commitment to fostering women’s leadership in sports and other areas of society.

“It’s All Ready” Campaign

The Ministry of Sports has also launched the campaign “It’s All Ready,” featuring players Cristiane and Tainá, stars of the Brazilian national team, and former player Daniela. The initiative celebrates Brazil’s capacity to host major sporting events, such as the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Rio Olympics.

The campaign highlights that stadiums, airports, hotels, the tourism ecosystem, and the entire logistical infrastructure have been tested and are ready. Additionally, it underscores the hospitality, charisma, and warmth of the Brazilian people. The competition represents a unique opportunity to promote gender equality, elevate women’s football, and empower women through sports.

If all tickets are sold, this edition is expected to be the first to surpass the milestone of two million fans in stadiums, with an estimated total audience of 2.3 million.

Team Participation

With 32 participating teams, 29 spots will be determined through qualifying tournaments organized by continental confederations. As the host country, Brazil is automatically qualified for one of the three spots reserved for Conmebol (South America). The other spots will be distributed as follows: 11 for UEFA (Europe), six for AFC (Asia), four for CAF (Africa), four for Concacaf (North and Central Americas), and one for OFC (Oceania).
