USA.- December 07, 2023 www.zonadeazar.com Penn Entertainment will gain market access for its recently rebranded ESPN Bet sportsbook platform in North Carolina through a deal with Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, which also will make ESPN Bet the official sportsbook of the Wells Fargo Championship PGA Tour event scheduled for May.

The exclusive agreement, which likely is for at least 10 years based on similar deals that include market access, sets up ESPN Bet to promote signups for its sportsbook at an event that carries a high profile in the state’s most populous city, likely either soon after or slightly ahead of the launch of legal online sports betting.

The tie to the Quail event also aligns well for ESPN+, which will stream 18-hole coverage of several feature groups on its PGA Tour Live feed throughout the tournament. The PGA Tour sees the ESPN+ streaming telecasts, which allow viewers to watch every shot from a handful of groups, as a way for fans who bet on individual shots and holes to follow the progress of their wagers on a round. The Tour also has a real-time streaming feed available through some sportsbook apps.
