Brazil to Host Argentina Twice on Road to 2027 Women’s World Cup
Brazil.- 20 September 2026 | www.zonadeazar.com Brazil‘s Women’s National Team has confirmed two October friendlies against Argentina as preparations continue for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, which Brazil will host.
The matches will take place on 10 October at Beira-Rio in Porto Alegre and on 13 October at Arena Pernambuco in São Lourenço da Mata, in the Recife metropolitan area.
Historic First at Beira-Rio
The opening fixture will mark a milestone for the national team.
It will be the first senior Brazil women’s match ever played at Beira-Rio, one of the venues selected for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The fixture will also give supporters in Porto Alegre an opportunity to see the national team ahead of the tournament.
Two 2027 World Cup Venues
Both Beira-Rio and Arena Pernambuco are included among the stadiums selected for the World Cup.
The Porto Alegre venue is scheduled to host seven matches: six group-stage games and one round-of-16 fixture.
Arena Pernambuco will also stage six group games and a round-of-16 match.
Preparation Beyond the Pitch
The friendlies will provide more than sporting preparation.
Using future World Cup venues can also contribute to event operations, supporter engagement and visibility around the cities preparing to host the tournament in 2027.
Squad Announcement on 22 September
Arthur Elias will name his squad for the Argentina fixtures on 22 September at 3pm at CBF headquarters.
The relevant FIFA international window runs from 5 to 13 October.
Kick-off times and ticket information will be announced separately.
Argentina Also Qualified for 2027
Argentina will use the matches as part of its own World Cup preparations.
The team secured qualification during the Copa América in June and will therefore have an early opportunity to play in two stadiums that will be used at the tournament.

Brazil‘s head coach highlighted Argentina’s recent improvement and its performances in continental competition.

Brazil will then travel to Japan for two further friendlies.
The first is scheduled for 29 November at Edion Peace Wing Hiroshima, followed by a second match on 5 December at JFE Harenokuni Stadium in Okayama.
It will be the first time Brazil have faced Japan in Japan under Arthur Elias.
