The summit took place on 14 and 15 September at Museu do Amanhã in Rio de Janeiro.

WIFS was designed as a B2B meeting point for leading stakeholders across the women’s football ecosystem.

Its format combined:

  • Business development.

  • Marketing.
  • Communications.
  • Sports management.

The aim was to create connections and identify solutions supporting the sustainable growth of the women’s game.

EBC Strengthens Women’s Football Presence

EBC’s institutional involvement was linked to TV Brasil’s wider strategy of expanding the visibility of women’s football.

The public broadcaster participated in two programme panels and showcased initiatives focused on recognition and promotion of the sport.

Cross-Generational Discussion

TV Brasil journalist Marília Arrigoni joined the panel Women’s Football Across Generations: Experiences, Achievements and New Horizons.

The discussion examined the development of women’s football across different generations and also featured Marion Konczyk Kaplan, Renata Armiliato and former players Pelézinha and Danda.

Communication as a Growth Tool

Another major theme was the transformation of communications around women’s football.

EBC President Antonia Pellegrino moderated Women’s Football Communication in Transformation: New Formats, Platforms and Narratives.

New Platforms and Narratives

The panel featured Suleima Sena, Rachel Motta, Daniela Grelin and Lívia Villas Boas.

Discussions explored how new formats, platforms and storytelling can expand audiences, increase recognition for players and build new communities around the women’s game.

TV Brasil and Visibility

EBC highlighted TV Brasil’s role in broadcasting and promoting women’s football.

The strategy is intended to increase the sport’s presence across public television and provide clubs, players and competitions with access to broader audiences.

Focus on the 2027 World Cup

The summit took place less than a year before Brazil hosts the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027.

That context adds further importance to discussions around infrastructure, communications, professionalisation, investment and long-term legacy.

Prêmio TV Brasil Petrobras Para Elas

The summit also featured the Prêmio TV Brasil Petrobras Para Elas.

The initiative was created to recognise:

  • Players.
  • Coaches.
  • Technical staff.
  • Executives.
  • Clubs.
  • Professionals supporting the development of women’s football.

Dedicated Women’s Football Award

The project is intended to address the absence of a national award exclusively focused on women’s football.

It includes sporting and institutional categories covering different contributors to the development of the game.

Craque da Torcida

Fans can also participate through the Craque da Torcida category.

Each club in the top tier of Brazilian women’s football has one representative included in the public vote.

Voting is free, requires no registration and allows unlimited entries.

Voting Open Until 31 October

Voting remains open until 31 October 2026.

Three finalists will be announced in early November.

The winner will be revealed during the awards ceremony on 15 November at Museu do Futebol in São Paulo.

TV Brasil Broadcast

The awards ceremony will be broadcast by TV Brasil.

The initiative strengthens the link between public media, institutional recognition and the promotion of players and organisations across Brazilian women’s football.

Organised by Confut

The Women’s International Football Summit is organised by Confut, an international football business platform.

The summit is intended to become a dedicated meeting point connecting sport, media, investment, sponsorship and professional management.

Industry Context

Brazilian women’s football is entering an important period of institutional and commercial development ahead of the 2027 World Cup.

Specialised events such as WIFS reflect a broader move towards professionalisation, business development and dedicated structures for the women’s game.

Next Steps and Impact

Following its inaugural edition, WIFS will seek to turn discussions and connections generated during the summit into projects, partnerships and investment.

For EBC, participation forms part of a broader strategy focused on visibility, broadcasting and recognition of women’s football.

The road to 2027 provides an opportunity to convert growing exposure into a sustainable legacy for clubs, players and the wider ecosystem.
