US Casino Threat Suspect Allegedly Linked to Online Extremist Network
United States.- 20 October 2026 | www.zonadeazar.com A 21-year-old man from Northern Ireland is facing multiple allegations involving bomb threats and attempted extortion targeting gambling establishments across the United States.
During court proceedings on 16 October 2026, authorities revealed that the suspect was also allegedly connected to an online extremist network accused of exploiting vulnerable children.
The defendant, identified by the initials J. B., remains in custody while investigations continue.
Three US Gaming Venues Targeted
According to allegations presented in court, the suspect used the online alias “Decay” when issuing threats against several American gambling properties.
The principal venues named in the proceedings were:
- Mohegan Sun, Connecticut: alleged bomb threats accompanied by demands for US$5,000 and a BMW.
- Hollywood Park Casino, California: threats involving claims that explosives had been planted.
- Turfway Park Racing & Gaming, Kentucky: alleged bomb threats and threats of a mass shooting.
Investigators have also linked the suspect to alleged threats against Denver International Airport, a shopping complex at New York’s World Trade Center and a hospital in North Carolina.
In another alleged extortion attempt, he reportedly demanded US$80,000 and a high-performance vehicle from a nuclear facility in Texas.
FBI Investigates Alleged Extremist Network Connection
During proceedings at Dungannon Magistrates’ Court, a detective stated that the FBI had identified the suspect as an alleged senior member of an online extremist network.
The network is accused of coercing vulnerable young people into producing material involving self-harm and other abuse.
The description resembles the activities attributed to 764, an online network investigated by US authorities.
However, investigators have not publicly confirmed that the defendant belongs specifically to that organisation.
Arrest and Previous Casino Threats
The suspect was initially arrested in February 2026 before being released on bail.
He was arrested again on 15 October, following allegations that he had breached court-imposed restrictions on internet access.
On 16 October, District Judge Francis Rafferty refused bail and ordered him to remain in custody until his next hearing, scheduled for 5 November 2026.
The proceedings follow several other incidents involving threats against US casinos.
During January and July 2026, threats prompted security alerts and evacuations at gaming properties in California, Oklahoma and other states.
Authorities have not established any connection between those earlier incidents and the defendant.
Next Steps and Impact
Investigations remain ongoing into the alleged threats, extortion attempts and possible computer-related offences.
None of the allegations has been proven in court, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless convicted.
For the gaming industry, the case highlights the importance of security procedures, cooperation with law enforcement agencies and effective responses to threats communicated through digital platforms.
It also demonstrates the challenges facing entertainment venues when potential security risks originate beyond their immediate jurisdictions.
