The partnership will enable the Malta-based operator to utilise Altenar’s sportsbook technology to develop a sports betting offering tailored to Finnish players.
The announcement marks another stage in the companies’ commercial relationship, which began in 2024.
Wildz Group Prepares to Enter Finland
Wildz Group is among the first operators to publicly confirm receiving an online gambling licence in Finland.
The authorisation was granted by Finland’s National Police Board and will enable the company to commence operations when the country’s new regulatory framework takes effect.
The operator has secured a five-year licence beginning on 1 July 2027.
The approval positions Wildz Group to participate in the Finnish online sports betting and casino market from its opening.
Altenar to Supply Sportsbook Technology
The agreement involves the deployment of Altenar’s sports betting technology.
The solution will allow Wildz Group to configure its commercial offering according to the specific requirements of the Finnish market.
Key elements of the collaboration include:
- Dedicated sports betting technology.
- Product configuration and customisation tools.
- Regional expertise across Nordic markets.
- Specialists in trading and risk management.
- Content tailored to local player preferences.
The objective is to develop a competitive sportsbook that meets Finland’s regulatory requirements.
Partnership Established in 2024
Altenar and Wildz Group have maintained a commercial relationship since 2024.
During this period, the technology supplier has supported Wildz Group’s expansion beyond its original casino-focused business model.
The introduction of sports betting products has allowed the operator to diversify its portfolio and extend its presence across different markets.
The planned Finnish launch represents a continuation of this growth strategy.

Sam Brown, Chief Executive Officer of Wildz Group, highlighted Altenar’s contribution to the development of its sports betting operations.
“Altenar has been central to the success of our global sports betting offering, and we anticipate a superb response in Finland once the market opens in July 2027,” he stated.
Brown also emphasised the flexibility of the supplier’s technology.

Stranomitis also welcomed the opportunity to support Wildz Group’s expansion with sportsbook technology designed to adapt to different commercial and regulatory conditions.
Finland to End Its Online Gambling Monopoly
Finland’s market opening represents a significant transformation of the country’s gambling regulatory framework.
Until now, state-owned operator Veikkaus has held exclusive rights over much of the country’s gambling industry.
From 1 July 2027, licensed private operators will be permitted to compete in several segments:
- Online sports betting.
- Online casinos.
- Digital slot games.
Veikkaus will retain exclusive rights over certain products, including traditional lotteries and some land-based gaming activities.
The reform aims to replace the existing monopoly with a licensing framework for gambling products opened to competition.
International Interest in Finland Continues to Grow
Finland’s licensing application process opened on 1 March 2026, attracting considerable interest from international operators.
According to information released by the regulator, 79 gambling licence applications had been submitted by 26 October.
Of these, 12 had been approved and none rejected.
Granturo Finland Ltd, part of Wildz Group, is among the approved companies.
The figures highlight the commercial interest surrounding Finland’s regulated market opening.
Wildz Group Expands Its Entertainment Portfolio
Wildz Group operates a portfolio of online casino and sports betting brands across different markets.
Its brands include:
- Wildz.
- Caxino.
- Wheelz.
- Spinz.
- Chipz.
- Tuplaus.
- Blingi.
- Wildz Sports.
The collaboration with Altenar will particularly support the sports betting segment of this commercial portfolio.
The supplier will contribute its technological capabilities and Nordic market expertise to support product localisation.
Industry Impact and Next Steps
Wildz Group’s planned entry into Finland represents a commercial opportunity for both the operator and Altenar.
For Wildz Group, the agreement provides access to sportsbook technology developed by an internationally experienced supplier.
For Altenar, it represents another opportunity to strengthen its presence in European markets undergoing regulatory transformation.
Over the coming months, both companies will continue preparing the technology integration and adapting the product to local requirements.
1 July 2027 will mark a new chapter for Finland’s online gambling industry, with Wildz Group and Altenar preparing to participate from the opening of the regulated market.
