Zona de Azar Brazil – Brazil: PIXBET Fined R$1 Million by Procon-SP for CDC Violations

Brazil.- March 20, 2025 www.zonadeazar.com The Procon-SP Foundation has fined PIXBET, the Brazilian parent company of the https://pixbet.com/sports/ and https://pix.bet.br/ platforms, for practices contrary to consumer protection and defence legislation.

On the respective sites, the contractual instrument ‘Terms and Conditions’ contains several abusive clauses that leave consumers at an excessive disadvantage, such as allowing the company to unilaterally modify the content of the contract after it has been signed and without prior communication to the consumer; preventing the withdrawal of deposited and unused amounts, depriving the consumer of the right to reimbursement of the amount paid; limiting the amount of the consumer’s withdrawal, preventing them from enjoying their funds.

In addition, under the terms, the consumer is obliged to exonerate the company from strict liability for the platform services that gave rise to the consumer complaint, as well as assuming the obligation to reimburse any collection costs, without the consumer having the same right vis-à-vis the supplier.

The fine of R$1,127,820.00 was imposed on the basis of financial information identified by experts from the Procon-SP Foundation, in accordance with the Consumer Defence Code. PIXBET has the right to appeal the sanction.
