Jamie Knight to Become IGT’s Global Chief Studios Officer

United States.- 23 September 2026 | www.zonadeazar.com IGT has announced the promotion of Jamie Knight to Chief Studios Officer, a global leadership role she will formally assume on 1 January 2027.

Knight, currently Senior Vice President of Game Studios for the United States, will succeed Jean Venneman, who is due to retire at the end of 2026.

Leadership Transition

The appointment represents another step in the development of IGT’s creative and product organisation.

As Chief Studios Officer, Knight will lead the company’s global studio structure and coordinate teams responsible for game and content development.

Effective January 2027

The appointment will become effective on 1 January 2027.

Jean Venneman will continue to lead the studio organisation through the end of the year before retiring.

Building on Jean Venneman’s Work

IGT said Knight will build on the foundation established during Venneman’s leadership.

The company credited Venneman with contributing to:

  • Studio integration.
  • Stronger operating processes.
  • Creative development.
  • Operational excellence.
  • Improved collaboration across teams.

Setting Studio Priorities

One of Knight’s principal responsibilities will be establishing clear priorities across studio teams.

The objective is to align investment and resources around content with the greatest potential across IGT’s global portfolio.

Game Mechanics Innovation

IGT specifically highlighted innovation in game mechanics as an area of focus.

The company wants its studios to continue experimenting with structures and features capable of differentiating products for players and operators.

Mathematical Modelling

Mathematical innovation will be another important part of the role.

Knight will oversee teams working on models that influence volatility, prize behaviour, hit frequency and other core aspects of game performance.

Global Content Strategy

Her remit will also include broader content strategy.

This is expected to cover:

  • New franchises.
  • Extensions of existing titles.
  • Original concepts.
  • Development of recognised brands.
  • Market-specific content.

IGT and Everi Teams

Knight will lead talent from both IGT and Everi.

The integration of those creative organisations forms part of the wider combination of IGT’s gaming and digital businesses with Everi.

Combined Studio Organisation

The enlarged structure brings together a broad range of capabilities.

These include:

  • Game designers.
  • Mathematicians.
  • Producers.
  • Artists.
  • Engineers.
  • Content specialists.

The company intends to use that scale to expand its development pipeline.

Hector Fernandez on the Appointment

IGT CEO Hector Fernandez described the transition as part of the company’s next phase of growth.

He highlighted Knight’s combination of creative instinct, studio leadership and focus on innovation in both design and mathematics.

Jamie Knight’s Career

Knight brings around two decades of gaming-industry experience.

Her background includes more than ten years across Scientific Games and Light & Wonder.

Creative Background

IGT emphasised that Knight began her career in a creative capacity.

That experience gives her direct knowledge of the collaborative process required to turn initial concepts into commercial gaming products.

Product Development Expertise

The company believes that combination of creative and management experience will be important in leading a global studio organisation.

Knight will need to balance innovation, execution and commercial objectives.

Player-Focused Content

A key goal will be continuing to develop content aligned with changing player preferences.

Studios will increasingly need to respond to shifts in:

  • Mechanics.
  • Visual design.
  • Themes.
  • Formats.
  • Player experience.

Operator Requirements

The content strategy will also need to reflect casino and operator requirements.

Products must combine player appeal with factors such as floor performance, differentiation and product longevity.

Continued Studio Investment

IGT said Knight will lead the company’s continued investment in studios.

The aim is to strengthen a structure capable of producing a larger and more consistent pipeline of new content.

Supporting Creative Talent

Another part of her remit will be creating an environment where creative teams can perform effectively.

That includes stronger coordination across game design, mathematics, technology and product functions.

IGT’s Broader Transformation

The appointment comes during a broader transformation of IGT.

The company is integrating capabilities across Gaming, Digital and FinTech alongside Everi’s technology and product organisation.

Content as a Competitive Driver

Content remains one of the industry’s most important competitive factors.

A supplier’s ability to produce successful games consistently influences:

  • Installations.
  • Market share.
  • Sales.
  • Gaming operations.
  • Operator relationships.

Industry Context

Major global gaming suppliers are increasing investment in content studios and intellectual property.

At the same time, game development is incorporating more data analysis, mathematical innovation, new mechanics and multi-channel adaptation.

Competition increasingly depends not only on hardware but also on building franchises capable of sustaining long-term performance.

Next Steps and Impact

Jamie Knight will formally take control of IGT’s global studio organisation on 1 January 2027.

During the transition, the company will continue integrating creative teams and establishing priorities for its combined structure.

Her mandate will centre on content innovation, design, mathematics and closer coordination between IGT and Everi studios as the group develops products for operators across international markets.
