China.- June 13th 2022 www.zonadeazar.com The Macau government announced on Saturday (11) that from next Wednesday (15 June), the quarantine period for those entering Macau will be reduced to “10+7” days.
The Novel Coronavirus Infection Response Coordination Center explained that this refers to 10 days of isolation for medical observation followed by seven days of self-health monitoring.
“The Omicron variant has a short infection incubation period and infected individuals can generally be detected by nucleic acid testing within seven days of exposure,” the Response Coordination Center said.
“From 00:00 on 15 June 2022, the 10+7 entry policy will be implemented for those who enter the Macau SAR from the Hong Kong SAR, Taiwan or foreign regions which meet certain conditions.”
The Center pointed out that the conditions of entry for the “10+7” epidemic prevention measure include vaccination and negative nucleic acid test results for all tests conducted during the isolation period.
Eligible people can leave the medical observation hotel for seven days of self-health monitoring after their 10 days of centralized isolation for medical observation.
A green health code will be displayed during the self-health monitoring period, but five nucleic acid tests are required within the seven days.
If any of the tests are not carried out at the scheduled time, the health code will become yellow, and if the test is not carried out within 24 hours of the scheduled time, the health code will change to red.
On Monday 6 June, Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng mentioned that he hoped to change the quarantine period to “10+7” in July or August, and also mentioned a change to “7+7” was possible.
