Zona de Azar USA – Las Vegas to Open 4th June IF no Increase in COVID-19 Cases

USA.- May 26, 2020 www.zonadeazar.com Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak has said that so long as there is no large spike in COVID-19 cases during the Memorial Day weekend then casinos can re-open come 4th June.

Sisolak will hold a news conference today Tuesday 26th May to confirm the re-opening once he has cleared it with the Nevada Gaming Control Board and health officials in the state. Should there be no large increase in cases then the first to open will be Caesars Palace and the Flamingo both owned by Caesars Entertainment and as reported here previously.

Last year more than $6 billion was brought in by casinos on the Las Vegas strip and government officials and operators are now desperate to start up again.

However Sisloak is cautious of any second wave and although under intense pressure from all sides to do so wants to be sure things are safe to do so.

Tony Rodio the Chief Executive of Caesars said, “hopes progress in the battle against COVID-19 and customer demand “will allow us to reopen more of our properties and bring back more of our colleagues as it is appropriate to do so.”
