Two days ago, the Lottery of Río Negro celebrated its 46th anniversary, marking more than four decades of continuous work for the well-being and development of the community in Río Negro. Over the years, the provincial organization has promoted significant social initiatives directly benefiting all residents of the province. This anniversary was an opportunity to celebrate several outstanding achievements.

Among this year’s main accomplishments was the attainment of the Security Control Standard from the World Lottery Association (WLA) and the International Security Certification, which verifies compliance with the ISO/IEC 27001 standard.

This certification represented a leap in quality, transparency, and security, building trust among players at points of sale and positioning the institution as one of the leading lotteries in the country. The Lottery of Río Negro became the second institution in Argentina to receive this distinction.

Another significant advancement was the collaboration in the fight against illegal online gambling with the Association of Lotteries, Quinielas, and State Casinos (ALEA). Together with ALEA, the Lottery of Río Negro developed actions to prevent and educate the public about the risks of unauthorized online gambling, while continuing to promote responsible gambling and the prevention of pathological behaviors. As part of this effort, the institution maintained a 24-hour assistance line (0800 222-1700), offering guidance to those facing gambling-related difficulties.

This year, the Responsible Gambling area was also strengthened through talks and workshops in high schools, aiming to educate young people about responsible gambling and identifying risky behaviors. These activities placed special emphasis on preventing illegal gambling and the dangers associated with using unregulated betting platforms.

In addition, in line with its mission of growth and modernization, the Lottery of Río Negro inaugurated a new complex in the Industrial Park, fulfilling various key functions: storage of documents, vehicle space, procurement area, archives, and offices.

Jorge Manzo, the Lottery’s administrator, expressed his satisfaction with the achievements: “This success would not have been possible without the effort and commitment of the agents in Río Negro and the Lottery’s workers. They are the real driving force that propels us forward.”
