Can Sportingbet operate in Brazil?

On July 25th of this year, Sportingbet requested authorization from the Prizes and Betting Secretariat (SPA) of the Ministry of Finance to start operating in the Brazilian sports betting and online gaming market.

According to Sportingbet, after following all the guidelines of the ordinances issued by SPA, the company filed the request within the established deadline. The request was registered in the Betting Management System (SIGAP) , allowing the monitoring and supervision of bets.

“This is an important milestone on our path to entering the regulated market. We have always been advocates of regulation and we are excited to be part of the first group of companies in Brazil to submit an application for a license,” commented Antonio Forjaz , Head of Latin America at Entain , owner of Sportingbet.
