Zona de Azar Brazil – Brazil: CEsp to Debate Allocation of Lottery Funds to E-sports

Brazil.- October 8, 2024  www.zonadeazar.com The Sports Committee (CEsp) will hold a public hearing next Wednesday (9) at 9:30 AM to discuss the bill (PL 6.118/2023), which proposes allocating part of the funds obtained from numerical lotteries to electronic sports (E-sports). The public hearing responds to a request (REQ 13/2024 – CEsp) submitted by Senator Rodrigo Cunha (Podemos-AL).

The bill, authored by Senator Izalci Lucas (PSDB-DF), amends Law 13.756 of 2018 by increasing the current 4.36% to 4.40% of the lottery sports proceeds allocated to sports. The 0.04% difference will be directed to the Brazilian Confederation of Games and E-sports (CBGE), by including CBGE in the National Sports System through an amendment to Law 9.615 of 1998.
