Kambi Surpasses 100 Million Bets During the 2026 World Cup

Malta.- 21 July 2026 www.zonadeazar.com Kambi Group reported that its global network of Turnkey Sportsbook partners processed more than 100 million sports bets during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The performance was supported by increased adoption of Bet Builder, player-proposition markets and products offering higher margins than traditional betting options.

News Details

With 102 of the tournament’s 104 matches completed at the time of the report, Kambi’s network had already surpassed 100 million bets. Each semi-final generated more than 700,000 unique bet combinations, while the expanded tournament format delivered the anticipated increase in overall volume.

Kambi also exceeded the average number of bets per match recorded during the 2022 World Cup and reported growth in the average stake. Its geographically diverse partner network distributed activity across a broader range of markets and time zones.

Pre-match Bet Builder volume was 3.6 times higher than in 2022. The average number of selections in each pre-match combination increased from 2.9 to 3.5, while in-play Bet Builder volume grew tenfold.

Player shots on target became the most popular pre-match selection within Bet Builder, generating twice the volume of the match-winner market. The same category accounted for 15% of total in-play betting volume.

Industry Context

The figures indicate a reduced reliance on traditional markets. The proportion of pre-match volume generated by markets other than the match winner increased from 57% to 63% compared with the previous World Cup.

Kambi attributed this shift to the growth of player-performance betting and demand for more complex combinations. These products allow operators to diversify their sportsbook offering while potentially achieving stronger margins than conventional markets.

The 2026 tournament was also the first World Cup in which all of Kambi’s pre-match and in-play betting offers were compiled and managed entirely by its artificial intelligence-driven trading system.

Statements

Kambi CEO Werner Becher said:

“Surpassing 100 million bets before the final demonstrates both the scale of our network and the advances we are making in sportsbook innovation.”

He added:

“This is the first World Cup managed entirely by our AI-powered capabilities, and we have seen the impact through stronger product performance, increased engagement with player betting and Bet Builder, and a betting mix that continues to evolve beyond traditional markets.”

Becher also stated:

“In a tournament where results have not always been favourable for some operators, these advances have enabled us to maintain a strong performance and continue delivering value to our partners.”

Next Steps or Impact

The World Cup performance provides Kambi with a foundation for further development of its algorithmic capabilities, player markets and combination-betting tools. The results also reinforce the role of artificial intelligence in automating odds, risk and live product management during major sporting events.
