SiGMA Introduces Fair Play Code for Sporting Events

The initiative forms part of the company’s ESG strategy and establishes shared standards covering respect, integrity, inclusion, safety and environmental responsibility.

Participants will be required to review and sign the charter before competing in golf, padel, football and other sporting activities included in SiGMA’s official event programme.

The document sets out seven core principles: respect for participants, officials and organisers; competitive integrity and a prohibition on fraud or match manipulation; prioritising safety; inclusion and zero tolerance for discrimination; professional conduct; appropriate conflict resolution; and environmental responsibility.

Its environmental provisions encourage participants to reduce single-use plastics, recycle, use sustainable transport and protect the venues hosting the competitions.

Industry Context

Sporting activities have gained an increasingly prominent position within SiGMA’s international event calendar. Its sports programme currently operates across eight international summits and includes more than 30 side events each year.

Its initiatives include the SiGMA Golf Tour, launched in Dubai in February 2026; the Global Padel Tour, organised with Blokotech and comprising four stages across three continents; and the SiGMA Cup, a football competition that remains part of the group’s established programme.

The company aims to position these competitions as structured networking environments governed by consistent behavioural and sporting standards rather than as purely secondary event attractions.

Next Steps or Impact

Signing the charter will become compulsory at upcoming SiGMA sporting competitions and the rules will be applied consistently throughout the organisation’s international calendar.

The measure will also apply at SiGMA World 2026, scheduled to take place in Rome from 2 to 5 November. The event is expected to attract 30,000 participants, more than 1,200 sponsors and exhibitors, and 550 speakers from the international iGaming industry.
