Resorts World NYC Adds 1,400 Slots and Advances Expansion

United States.- 23 July 2026 www.zonadeazar.com Resorts World New York City has opened a new first-floor gaming area featuring 1,400 additional slot machines, increasing the property’s total slot portfolio to 3,900 machines.

The opening forms part of a US$5.5 billion expansion project, as the company prepares to begin the second phase of the redevelopment.

News Details

The new gaming floor includes Dragon Den, a themed area featuring 114 Aristocrat titles, including 48 Dragon Link machines and a progressive jackpot worth up to US$1 million.

The expansion was completed less than three months after the property introduced live table games and became New York City’s first full commercial casino.

During its first eleven weeks of commercial casino operations, the property’s slot machines generated more than US$230 million in gross gaming revenue. Resorts World expects the additional machines to increase capacity and generate further tax contributions for New York State.

Industry Context

The project’s second phase includes a new 400-room hotel tower and a 7,000-seat entertainment venue.

The full development, scheduled for completion by 2030, is expected to feature a 350,000-square-foot casino with 6,000 slot machines, 800 live table games, 2,000 hotel rooms and more than ten acres of public green space. The company believes the completed property could become the largest casino in the United States.

Resorts World was one of three projects awarded downstate New York casino licences in December 2025. The other successful projects were Bally’s Bronx and Metropolitan Park.

Statements

Robert DeSalvio, President of Genting Americas East, highlighted the level of demand recorded since opening and described the slot machines as “incredibly popular with the public”.

He said the additional machines would allow the casino to accommodate more customers and generate further tax revenue for the state.

Next Steps or Impact

Resorts World will now move forward with the second phase of its investment plan and the construction of additional hotel and entertainment facilities.

The expansion strengthens the property’s early advantage over New York’s other licensed casino projects, as Resorts World was able to convert an existing operation while its competitors continue through development and construction stages.
