IBIA Recorded 76 Suspicious Betting Alerts in Q2 2026

Belgium.– 24 July 2026 www.zonadeazar.com The International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) reported 76 suspicious betting alerts involving nine sports during the second quarter of 2026. Football and esports accounted for more than half of all detected cases.

According to its latest Integrity Report, football topped the ranking with 25 alerts, representing 33% of the total, followed by esports with 16 cases or 21%.

The remaining alerts involved basketball, with ten cases; tennis, with nine; darts, with five; greyhound racing, with four; cricket and table tennis, with three each; and volleyball, with one alert.

South America accounted for 22% of the reports. Seven football alerts were identified across the region: two in Brazil, two in Colombia, two in Paraguay and one in Bolivia. The report also recorded nine basketball cases —five in Paraguay, three in Colombia and one in Venezuela— as well as one tennis alert in Ecuador.

The report also includes a special analysis of Canada, noting that competitive regulation can move betting activity into licensed, visible and monitored markets. Ontario’s online sports betting channelisation, measured through gross gambling revenue, increased from 5% in 2022 to 85% in 2023 and subsequently stabilised above 90%.

IBIA also highlighted its Canadian athlete education programme, supported by a CA$300,000 commitment from the association and its members bet365, Betway and FanDuel. The initiative has already reached nearly 200 Canadian Premier League players and staff members.

IBIA’s network comprises more than 90 companies and over 200 betting brands. Its platform monitors more than 1.5 million sporting events annually and analyses customer activity across over US$300 billion in global betting turnover.
