Betting operator Stake identified an abnormal volume of wagers on Acosta being shown a yellow card and reported the activity to Sportradar, the integrity-monitoring company covering the competition.
Following its assessment, Sportradar referred the matter to the CBF. The confederation then notified Fluminense and informed the Federal Police, the Public Prosecutor’s Office and Brazil’s Superior Court of Sports Justice. The case remains at a preliminary assessment stage.
