Josh Reichard Claims Third MSPT Title

The Wisconsin player defeated a field of 549 entries in the USD 1,110 No-Limit Hold’em tournament at Riverside Casino, earning a first-place prize of USD 111,942.

Reichard defeated Jake Wilding heads-up for the title, with the runner-up receiving USD 68,763. Ricky Landais finished third for USD 50,108, while Jason Crews took fourth place and USD 37,314.
The final table featured nine players and distributed the leading prizes from a tournament attracting more than 500 entries. Reichard also earned 1,700 Player of the Year points, moving him into third place on the MSPT leaderboard.
The victory also awarded him a USD 3,500 seat in the MSPT Championship at the Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open, scheduled to take place at Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida, from 18 November to 2 December.
Industry Context
The result continues one of the most significant seasons of Reichard’s career. In June, he won his first World Series of Poker bracelet in the USD 2,500 No-Limit Hold’em Event #62.
He defeated a field of 1,736 entries and collected USD 555,198, taking his accumulated live tournament winnings beyond USD 7 million.
Reichard was already a member of the MSPT Hall of Fame and has also won 17 WSOP Circuit rings. His career has been closely associated with regional US tours, where he has established himself as one of the country’s most consistent mid-stakes tournament players.

The tournament also produced a notable family storyline. Brett “Pops” Reichard, the champion’s father, was eliminated in 13th place for USD 6,397 after losing a hand to his own son.
Brett moved all-in with king-eight, while Josh Reichard held ace-king. The board did not overturn the initial advantage, allowing the eventual champion to eliminate his father before progressing to the final table.
MSPT Season 17 will continue with the Colorado Poker State Championship, followed by the tour’s inaugural Illinois Poker State Championship in Chicago from 4 to 9 August and another stop in Cleveland from 18 to 23 August.
