Germany.- June 01, 2020 www.zonadeazar.com German gamblers using Visa and Mastercard for online casinos could be restricted or stopped according to a recent report.

Visa has requested partners and banks to stop processing transactions for online casinos which include deposits and even withdrawals using its cards. The company said it is to ensure all transactions are legal and by properly licensed operations.

In gambling forums in Germany many players have reported that their cards are now blocked and cannot be used. Many online operators have said it is a temporary measure and will be back to normal soon.

However online operators such as Tipico have removed the transaction logo for Visa on the website and other operators say that the cards can be used for sports betting only.

Germany is in the process of new gambling legislation which is supposed to come into effect by July 2021, licensing all operations within the country and banning those that do not conform to gambling standards. The government also want to impose restrictions on amounts gambled and also barring customers who use more than one gambling site simultaneously.
