Chile – 24 April 2026 – www.zonadeazar.com The Superintendence of Gaming Casinos of Chile modifies the technical bases and extends the deadlines for the tender processes of the casinos in Iquique, Coquimbo, Viña del Mar and Pucón.
Overview
The Superintendence of Gaming Casinos of Chile extends by 12 business days the deadline for the Hearing for the Presentation of Technical and Economic Offers in the processes for granting casino operation permits in Iquique, Coquimbo, Viña del Mar and Pucón.
With this modification, the hearing is scheduled for 11 August 2026 at 10:00.
Details / Context
The SCJ reports that the modifications are formalised through Exempt Resolutions No. 414, No. 415, No. 416 and No. 418, which introduce changes to the technical bases of the tender processes.
Among the adjustments, the regulator clarifies definitions related to shareholders and ownership structure, incorporating concepts such as direct shareholder, indirect shareholder and consolidated ownership. New background requirements for bidders are also added.
Regulatory and financial aspects
The modifications include changes in the technical and financial evaluation of projects, adjustments to the minimum required investment amounts, variations in the economic guarantees required, and changes in the methodology for evaluating technical proposals.
In addition, the minimum investment amount required, expressed in Unidades de Fomento, is reduced for the casinos in Coquimbo, Viña del Mar and Iquique.
In all four tenders, the calculation of the guarantee bond is also modified, corresponding to 5% of the declared investment programme. In the cases of Viña del Mar and Iquique, municipal properties and associated tourism infrastructure works are not considered.
Future outlook
The extension of deadlines provides bidders with more time to prepare their proposals under the new technical, financial and regulatory conditions defined by the SCJ.
The process remains strategically relevant for the Chilean casino market, as it involves emblematic locations such as Viña del Mar, Iquique, Coquimbo and Pucón, all with significant tourism, economic and regional impact within the industry.
