Hipódromo Palermo Celebrates 150 Years with Racing and Live Shows
Argentina.- 28 de Abril de 2026 www.zonadeazar.com The Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo will kick off its 150th anniversary celebrations on May 1st with a special event offering free admission and a full day of horse racing, gastronomy, and entertainment for the whole family.
Starting at 12:00 PM, the iconic venue will open its doors with a comprehensive program including international races, live performances, children’s activities, food experiences, and prize draws, reinforcing its role as one of the city’s premier entertainment hubs.
One of the main highlights will be the race meeting, featuring six Group 1 races, with the prestigious Gran Premio República Argentina (G1) scheduled for 6:30 PM, one of the most important events in the national racing calendar.
Alongside the racing action, visitors will enjoy the Barbecue and Empanada Festival, bringing together more than 30 food trucks offering flavors from across Argentina. The event will also feature the “Camino de las Provincias”, a cultural and tourism space showcasing regional diversity.
Family-friendly activities will include games for children, a funfair, and the traditional “Train to the Starting Gates”, offering a unique experience to watch race starts from the track.
The entertainment lineup begins at 6:00 PM with a performance by Maggie Cullen accompanied by the Granaderos Fanfare Band, followed at 10:00 PM by a live show from La T y La M, one of the most popular music acts in Argentina.
After the concert, the celebration will continue at the casino with million-peso prize draws and additional entertainment, with entry restricted to guests over 18.
Celebrating 150 years of history, Hipódromo Palermo reaffirms its position as a landmark of Argentine horse racing and a major entertainment destination, looking ahead to a new chapter of growth and innovation.
