ALEA and UBA Launch Anti-Money Laundering Diploma

The programme is intended to strengthen the technical capabilities of professionals, public officials and teams involved in regulating, supervising, operating and controlling gambling activity in Argentina.

The diploma will provide comprehensive training on anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing systems, with content specifically adapted to the characteristics and risks of the gambling sector.
Its curriculum will cover international standards, Argentine regulations, mutual evaluations, risk-based management and the role of the country’s Financial Intelligence Unit (UIF) within the national preventive framework.
It will also examine criminal law and money-laundering investigations, supervisory and sanctions regimes, the obligations of regulated entities and the general legal framework governing gambling.
Additional modules will cover customer due diligence, know-your-customer procedures, online gambling regulation, illegal gambling prevention, transaction monitoring, suspicious-activity reporting, typologies, internal auditing and risk self-assessment methodologies.
Participants and Format
The programme is aimed at professionals, officials and representatives of gambling regulatory bodies, compliance officers, technical teams at regulated entities and members of public authorities involved in preventing money laundering and terrorist financing.
It is also open to professionals and other individuals seeking specialist knowledge of compliance and risk management within the gambling industry. Applicants must hold a completed secondary-school, undergraduate or university qualification.
Classes will begin on 26 August 2026 and conclude on 9 December 2026. The programme will be delivered virtually through the UBA platform every Wednesday from 6pm to 9pm.
Tuition will cost ARS 780,000 as a single payment or ARS 930,000 in six instalments. ALEA will manage the pre-registration stage before applicants are referred to the Faculty of Economic Sciences to complete their formal enrolment.
