Betting Brands Dominate Série A Shirt Sponsorship
Brazil.- 29 July 2026 www.zonadeazar.com Betting operators currently occupy the principal shirt-sponsorship position at 12 of the 20 clubs competing in Brazil’s Série A.
Sportingbet’s arrival as Vasco da Gama’s main sponsor increased the proportion of top-flight teams displaying a betting brand in the leading position on their kits to 60%.
News Details
In Rio de Janeiro, Vasco da Gama are sponsored by Sportingbet, Botafogo display VBet, Flamengo carry the Betano brand and Fluminense are partnered with Superbet.
In São Paulo, Sportingbet also holds the principal position on Palmeiras shirts, while Corinthians are supported by Esportes da Sorte and São Paulo FC by Superbet.
The pattern extends to other states. Atlético Mineiro are partnered with H2Bet, Cruzeiro with Betnacional and Vitória with 7K. Newly promoted Remo and Chapecoense have also entered betting sponsorship agreements with VaideBet and ZeroUm respectively.
Industry Context
The commercial presence of betting operators extends beyond shirt sponsorship. Betano holds the naming rights to Série A, Superbet is the title partner of Série B and Sportingbet has become a partner of the CONMEBOL Libertadores.
The sector invests more than BRL 2.9 billion in the Brazilian advertising market, while 15 betting companies rank among the country’s 300 largest advertisers, according to Ibope Advertising Intelligence data cited in the survey.
Operators have also expanded their exposure through commercial inventory at major competitions and campaigns distributed across television, digital platforms and sports broadcasts.
Next Steps or Impact
The concentration of shirt agreements confirms that betting companies have become one of the principal sources of commercial funding for Brazilian football.
However, the expansion has also increased regulatory scrutiny. The National Consumer Secretariat opened an investigation into potential advertising irregularities, while Brazil’s advertising self-regulatory body assessed campaigns shown during matches.
New rules prohibit commentators and match narrators from directly encouraging viewers to bet during broadcasts. Advertising must also include clear warnings regarding financial losses, addiction risk and the fact that gambling should not be treated as an investment.
The future of these partnerships will depend on balancing clubs’ financial requirements, operators’ investment capacity and compliance with increasingly rigorous responsible-advertising standards.
