External Lottery Games Pay US$758,643 in San Juan Prizes
Argentina.- 15 July 2026 www.zonadeazar.com The San Juan Social Action Fund (CAS) reported that external lottery games paid ARS1.127 billion, equivalent to approximately US$758,643, in prizes during the first half of 2026. The result represents nominal growth driven mainly by higher ticket prices.
News Details
External games are lottery products organised by authorities in other Argentine provinces, including Telekino, Loto, Quini 6 and Brinco. Despite price increases across several products, sales levels remained stable in San Juan.
The period also recorded ARS89 million in expired prizes that were not claimed within the established deadline. Half of that amount is transferred to general provincial revenue, while the remaining 50% supports a CAS credit line used for advertising and charitable campaigns.
CAS distributes an average of between ARS3 million and ARS5 million in prizes each week. The overall prize expiry rate stands at approximately 2%, well below the levels recorded in previous years.
Industry Context
The increase in prize money was not accompanied by a comparable rise in the number of wagers. Betting activity remained within normal levels, meaning the financial growth primarily reflects higher ticket prices and larger available jackpots.
National lottery draws continue to attract players in San Juan because of their substantial jackpots, despite offering lower individual winning probabilities than some provincial products.
Statements
Rolando Tello, Gaming Manager at the San Juan Social Action Fund, said:
âThere has been no increase in the number of wagers. We remain within our normal average. There is more money because ticket prices increased, so this is nominal growth, while the number of bets remains at practically the same percentage.â
He added:
âDespite the increases applied to Telekino, Quini 6 and Loto tickets, sales levels remained stable. People participate because of the size of the prizes and, although these national draws offer lower winning probabilities, San Juan has awarded a significant number of prizes.â
Next Steps or Impact
CAS will continue monitoring sales and prize distribution throughout the second half of the year. Stable participation despite higher ticket prices demonstrates the continuing ability of major national jackpots to retain player interest across the province.
