McHugh has more than three decades of lottery industry experience and has held several leadership positions at Scientific Games.

He was appointed to lead the company’s global lottery business in January 2019. He subsequently remained Chief Executive Officer of Scientific Games following Brookfield Business Partners’ acquisition of its lottery division, completed in April 2022.

During his leadership, the company increased its focus on the lottery market, expanded its digital capabilities and strengthened its portfolio of games, technology systems and analytics tools.
